Ukrainian Language Program

Ukrainian Language is continued in grades 6-8.  Linguistic and cultural opportunities exist within the program to cultivate a learning environment dedicated to developing appreciation for Ukrainian heritage.  Participants in this program have completed the EUBP offered at Oakbank Elementary School.  In a typical school year, students receive 11/12 periods of Ukrainian Language instruction from the allotted ELA  time each cycle.  The students will have the same ULA  teacher for their 3 years at SMS.  Again, Ukrainian cultural experiences are an important portion of the language program and enhance the education received.
